Write an extended reflection paragraph (6-10 sentences) about your "voyage" on the HMS Beagle. Examples of things to include:

What did you learn on your journey?

What was your favorite post and why?

Was it easy to stay in character? Why or why not?

What is your (your character's, I mean) final opinion of the subject of evolution?

Also include your REAL name so others (like in other periods) will know who you are!

This journey on the HMS Beagle was quite wonderful. I learned a lot. I learned things like how different traits allows organisms to live differently. My favorite post was the one where we created an organism. I liked it because it allowed me to be creative. I'd say it was easy to stay in character because we both share similar traits. I think that evolution is a logical explanation of not how organisms started but how they became the way they are today. By the way I'm Jesse Brown

My "voyage" aboard the HMS Beagle was fantastic! It was such a creative and fun way to better understand the topic of evolution. I learned how controversy evolution is and how the sharing of different opinions on the matter helps to find exactly where I stand as far as what I think to be true. My favorite post was the one where everyone shared a quote said by their character because I've always loved quotes and those helped me to better understand who my fellow characters were beyond their names and faces. I thought it was pretty easy to stay in character because of mine and J. K. Rowling's shared opinions; most of the time I thought of my opinion on a topic first, then asked myself how Rowling would agree and/or disagree with me. Both Rowling and I would say that evolution, in conclusion after doing this forum, is complex and has great reasoning behind it. It is shown through history it's work in action and how species have transformed to better survive. The reveal party was definitely the best part of this project because of the games and the fun of pretending to be someone else in a group of fellow journey members.

I loved this forum project because it was a good way to show many different opinions are out there over evolution. However, learning evolution in our class was done in a fun and creative way which I enjoyed. My favorite post was the one on regenerating species because that article was actually very interesting to read. It was pretty easy to stay in character because prah doesn't have any really weird quirks that I had to remember. I think Oprah would beleive the theory of Evolution because of the facts. I'm Ntasha and I know, I know no need to comment on the resemblance between Oprah and I.

I really liked this Forum Project because it made it hard to procrastinate and it was almost not like doing homework. I would say I learned more from this project than I did in Mrs.Pollock's eigth grade class last year but the majority of learning the Theory of Evolution came from my class and this project was a nice reinforcement of those concepts (if you did the posts). My favorite post was #9 where we had to choose a cartoon off the internet about your character or evolution because it was fun looking at everyone's pictures. It was difficult getting into character because I don't really watch Ellen's shows and don't know anything about her except that she's funny and I'm not. hmm I would say Ellen's final thoughts on evolution would be a mixture of both Science and her religion because she grew up as a Christian Scientist until her parents divorced.  I'm Jasmin and obviously I have no life because I'm doing this on a Saturday night.

Hi biggrin

I enjoyed my voyage on the HMS Beagle. On my journey, I learned many things about evolution. I learned that the Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago and that there are many different views on evolution. I also learned that certain traits can be harmful or helpful to organisms depending on the environment; this was learned from the Charles Darwin Game. My favorite post was Post #5. Adaptation Nation because I had an opportunity to come up with my own species using my imagination; it was very exciting. It was easy to stay in my character because Jane Austen was a romance novel author, and I love romance, reading and writing stories. Plus, she loved making friends and so do I. So in other words, I enjoy the same things she did. Jane Austen’s final opinion on the subject of evolution would be that religion was responsible for the formation of Earth, the origin of life, and the explanation for the varied and highly complex organisms today; this is so because she is a Christian Anglican, and her father was a priest, thus making the religious influence stronger on her. She would not believe in the theory of evolution, but she would respect the opinion of others even though she may not agree with them.

Crikey, mate, the HMS Beagle is something.  I reaslly learned a lot about natural selection and evolution through games and interesting, thought provoking questions.  Through the posts I finally decided that evolution is a fact, mate, and it can go hand in hand with religion.  I really enjoyed the post in which we played the game on natural selection.  It presented the basics of natural selection in a fun and easily understood fashion nad made me want to kepe playing until my species survived a million years.  It was super easy to stay in character, mate.  Steve is just a super relatable guy who really really loves crocodiles.

My voyage aboard the HMS Beagle was phenomenal. It allowed me to see that despite the differing opinions that swayed from one extreme to another over the ages, people can set aside these differences in the name of science. My favorite posts were the Natural Selection game because there so many possible outcomes and the one where I created my own organism, again, there were so many options. As for the difficulty of staying in character, it wasn't particularly hard. I speak the same way he does in real life so there was not much of a challenge. However, to be as sulky and condescending in demeanor was slightly a bit of a challenge. I felt bad for critisising others so harshly but being the character I was supposed to be, it was neccessary. What does Nietzsche think of evolution? Well, he strongly agrees that evolution exists but he has stated that his view will change as science progresses. He was hardcore anti-creationist and strongly disbelieved in any religious affiliation with science, hence the scathing reply I needed to post. I think it is rather obvious who I am.

I enjoyed this voyage aboard on the HMS Beagle. It helped me learn about Evolution in different perspectives, whether there's a real relationship between Earth's own movements and our own religious beliefs. This voyage was an interesting strategy to help educate us on the topics of evolution, natural selection, and Darwin in a more fresh and exciting way. My favorite post was "One or the Other?", it included the debate between evolution and God. Although Mother Teresa may have seen God as the creator of the world, her open-mindedness can relate to others' opinions on how Earth really may have been created; it's really ones' own perception of how he/she views the world as. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so she may respect that. She once said,"Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love." It was decently easy to stay in character. I do not know exactly how Mother Teresa spoke during her time, but I tried taking her inputs on religion, love, and nobility and tried to tie it back in to these posts to help make her realistically accurate as possible. I think Mother Teresa's last opinion on Evolution may be that it is a great way to learn how the Earth may have been formed for those who want to digress in the Science field and see factors beyond the art of God. On my voyage on the HMS Beagle, I have learned that people have different perspectives on the topic of evoultion. My favorite post was post #3 Game On. It's my favorite because the game was very entertaining and kept you thinking about which species were best suited to live in certain climates. It was easy for me to stay in character because I researched my character and found that we had similar views and personality. My character believed that evolution is the foundation of understanding biology and it plays a significant role in our society today. My name is Amanda Yang and I was the character Ivanka Trump.

My voyage was alot of fun.  Although I didn't get to kill anything I still learned alot.  My favorite post was the one when I made fun of William.  It was very easy to stay in character becasue Jake, William, and Matt all acted the same as me.  I think evolution happens but humans were still made by God.  I think William had the best costume out of us.

My voyage was an interesting experience.  I not only reviewed the evolution unit, but I also had to work with interpersonal relationships through someone else’s perspective.  By far my favorite post was ‘Game On’.  It made me think before I acted compared to most of the other posts.  This game showed a real example of natural selection that helped me understand the real world applications of it.  Overall, it was fairly easy to stay in character.  In the beginning, I read up on Elvis and some of his famous quotes which better helped me understand his point of view.  I also used his quotes directly in my posts to give a real touch of Elvis.  Elvis’ true opinion on evolution was never clearly stated, but from what I have gathered, he was a very religious man who tried to keep his opinion on most controversial topics from affecting his career.  He probably believed a mixture of ideas from religious and the scientific perspective.

My voyage on the HMS Beagle was a great trip! I learned so much and being Dr.Seuss was something I just could not skip. I learned so much about evolution, But I still believe natural selection and god are the solution. My favorite post was the quote, because I got to express myself without an anecdote. I don not believe it was easy to stay in character. It was hard to rhyme all the time and not quit till' sunset in Americer. My final opinion is the beileve in gods creation, but the idea of natural selection is still real. The entire evolution idea is a sham I feel. Now I am done with this project I believe, so have a great weekend and save time to reflect.

I have to admit that my voyage on the HMS Beagle was quite a blast. I learned a lot about evolution including that little changes in a species' traits over time can gradually lead to a big change in that species. I also thought it was interesting to learn about other people's opinions on evolution and how it is related to religion. My favorite post was Post #5 Adaptation Nation becasue I was able to create my own animal, the Narcoon, which ended up being an amazing species that was quite evolutionary fit. It was sometimes hard to stay in character because Will is an atheist unlike me, so we have different opinions on how evolution and religion go hand in hand. His humor also usually tends to be a little on the school inappropriate side. Will's final opinion on the subject of evolution would be that science alone has led to the evolution of all species over time.

To be honest, although I did enjoy my voyage along with all of my fellow famous people, I didn't learn much from this trip because I am Bill Nye, the Science Guy and I am all knowing. (Like some of your so-called "God" is. Psh.)

My favorite post was when we had to find comics that had to do with our character/evolution because all of the comics that people posted were funny. However, I couldn't use the comic about Bill Nye that I wanted because there was some foul language in it. In my opinion, it was kind of hard to stay in character during this project. I'm mostly just saying this because Bill Nye is a genius and I had to pretend to be as intelligent as he is, which I'm obviously not. I would have to say that Bill Nye's final opinion of this voyage would be that it was a fun and good way to review about a unit and he hopes that he'll go on more of these trips in the future.

P.s. I'm Avery Ray the fyest of all scientists/Jason's wife.

While aboard the HMS Beagle, I feel that I learned a great number of things that I would never know if I had not participated (Or, atleast, re-learn things that I have forgotten since I was last in a biology classroom).  I learned a variety of things about how different species change based on their enviornments, as well as how species today evolved from their ancestors.  By far, my favorite post was the ninth one (mostly because it was so simple).  It was also as easy to stay in-character as it ever has been for me... I'm not exactly good at acting.  I feel that I defer to the teachings of biology on the topic of how the residence of the Earth today evolved from their ancestors.

Along my journey on the HMS Beagle I learned many things. One of which was that Darwin was not the only one to come up with the modern theory of evolution. I also learned many things about the processes of evolution and natural selection. My favorite post was the cartoon because it was amusing and a good break from all the serious posts. It was relatively easy to stay in character because I am so mentally similar to my character. However, the discussions about religion made it hard to stay in character. My character's final opinion about evolution is that it is completely true and that everyone should be educated about it. My character believes it should be taught to everyone. My real name is Jeremy Cover.

On this "Voyage" I learned how natural selection applies to many aspects of evolution and many of other world topics. This was an interesting experience since every post was unique from what a normal person would say since everyone was somewhat famous. My character had many contrasting views with mine so it was very hard to stay in character. Since Leonardo is not very religious he didn't really feel liek religion was a big factor. Overall I believe ebvolution is misunderstood and if you actually learn about it you could see there is some truth in the aspects of it.

THE VOYAGE WAS AMAAAAAAZZZZZZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I learned all about Darwin, evolution, and natural selection!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite post was when we were able to create our own species!! MINE WAS AWESOME!!!!!! It was pretty easy to stay in character but there were a couple times that were challenging. Evolution is true!!!!!! God put these creatures on the Earth but once they got here natural selection took over and  made our world more evolved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
