I agree and...I disagree. It's ok to bring back the animals that are harmless, that's fine. What I got a problem with, is dumb scientists trying to bring back Volocaraptors and Godzillas and T-Rex's and Sabertooth Tigers. If one of those things gets lose, people are going to die in that things mouth. I ain't running from...well...I don't feel like running, but if I have to, someone else is going to die with my hands around their throat for reviving it. So actually, no, no reviving;why take a risk of someone gettin' their skull cracked by a revived dinosaur thing.
THAT'S JUST COMMON SENSE BABY

I agree with both sides of the argument. In my opinion, there is so much wrong we have done to many species who are now extinct and we should some how right that wrong. However, de-extinction is trying to fix something that maybe can be done scientifically, but not morally. I believe to right this wrong our own species has done to this Earth is to protect what we have now and ensure it does not become extinct as well.
We should definitely do all we can to bring wildlife back to the world, mate! I try to teach everyone I can about conservationism, or nature conservation. Basically, mate, this meansprotecting nature and the wildlife in it and not encroaching on their land. That's why most species are extinct- humans are encroaching on their territory. It's us taking beautiful creatures aware from the world and our descendants. If we can bring an animal back, we should, and if we can bring its habitat back, we should. That's the best way to start un-doing our impact on the world, mate.
I believe that it's a great idea and a bad one. It's great because scientists and other people really care about the extinct animals and want to do something to help them. Plus, like the article said, it's a really cool idea to see what animals would come back to life. On the other hand, it can be a bad idea because of the fact the the animals wouldn't be used to our enviornment. They would be in a new element and we don't even know what their elements were hundreds of thousands of years ago.
To be quite honest, I am not exactly sure which side of this debate I would support. There are both pros and cons of this experiment; therefore it’s hard to be fully on board with one or the other. Yes, bringing back extinct animals would be a huge advancement in the field of science, however placing a brand new organism in any ecosystem could throw everything out of whack. In addition, some extinct organisms might not be able to adapt to the new environment, not to mention a new time period.
Wow! Organism revival! That sounds like something that could come right out of a Harry Potter novel! Bringing extinct organisms back into society sounds like a type of witchcraft! I love the possibility of the fact that organisms from long ago could live among us today! Science discoveries will definitely continue at a soaring rate and the people of today can become better educated on what organisms lived on the earth in the past. I'm all for increasing organism diversity and correcting the mistakes of the past pertaining to humanity causing certain species to become extinct. We would definitely have to prepare ourselves for these old species to live today because of the great change in environments between the two time periods.

Species revival sounds quite controversial; therefore I can go both ways. We were put here for a reason and we leave from here for a reason. But seeing death or extinction of anyone or anything is awful, it is just mortifying to see someone or something leave. I think it is interesting that modern-day technology and knowledge of science can help re-create extinct animals. However I agree with some scientists that if we were to revive a species back, it may change the environment because of competition and other sorts of drawbacks. I am not a scientist, but I believe it is a matter of planning through how the extinct animal may respond to its' environment today, whether it is harmful or safe, and where it may inhabit. I do not want to see anyone harmed in this process.

I think we should bring back any extinct species that we can. They should get a second chance is we were the ones that killed them off. Also if they were brought back I could hunt them to the brink of extinction and then bring them back. Hunting is so fun. It makes me happay, happay, happay. But seriously, if humans killed them then it is only fair that we bring them back for a second chance and we don't screw them up.
Alright everybody, today well be talking about organism revival. This arguement is especially intriguing because both sides have very compelling points. Personally, I would be fascinated to see an organism make a comeback from extinction. I mean honestly how great would that be! Thats like a laugh in deaths face. If scientists have the power to bring an organism back from exctinction, think of all the other possiblities that science could accomplish.

I think that is fine. If something dies it dies for a reason but if it can be benificial then there is no point of keeping it from being dead. The only problem I see with this is that it would cost alot of money. The only other problem is overpopulation.

I think we should try to bring back dead species. There's no reason not to! It's like knowing how to shoot a gun; if you can do it then why not do it. It is perfectly logical to want to bring dead animals back to life, especially if you can hunt them and they taste good.
I believe that if humans have the ability to possibly revive an extinct species then we should definitely give it a try. I mean don't the extinct species deserve another chance since humans are almost always the ones responsible for their extinction. If de-extinction does not end up being beneficial to the environment then the practice could be stopped. I mean you never know how it will turn out until you give it a try. I mean I never new that my co-star Zach Galifianakis in The Campaign had a serious nut allergy until I "jokingly" put some walnuts in his breakfast burrito and almost killed him. We're all cool now... He doesn't know that I already knew about his allergy before the prank. Just remember that you never know how something will turn out until you test it out.

I believe we should not bring back extinct animals. We do not know how they will affect ecosystems by being apart of the food chain again. Extinction is a natural part of the evolution of things on Earth, we should let it play its course and not try to revive extinct species. We should save our resources and use it towards more productive things for the future.

In this argument, I used moral judgments to pick which side I agree with because I am a very moral person. I agree with the side that says we should not bring back extinct species. Though it feels as if mankind bringing back the extinct species from the dead is a way to correct the wrongdoing of our kind (since we are the cause of their extinction), it is actually doing more wrong to our planet. If we were to bring back extinct species back to life, our current ecosystems won’t be fit for their needs because these species roamed the Earth many years ago, and the Earth has changed since then. The Earth’s new ecosystems might make the extinct species uncomfortable, and if they are not able to adapt to their new environment, they will just become extinct again, thus adding more death on our hands and conscience. Plus, many other species today are endangered and are on the verge of becoming extinct. We need to correct the issues we are dealing with today before we try to work with issues from the past. These endangered species need our help right now; they are not just going to wait until we finish bringing back extinct species to life. By the time we finish resurrecting species from the dead, these endangered species will be extinct.
This is my personal opinion. Every one of my friends on this blog will either have the same opinion like me, or they will have an opinion that disagrees with mine. Either way I respect their opinion, even though I may not agree with them.
Even though people might have the abilities to bring back an extinct species, it should not be done. The possibilities that they would be healthy would be small.Just because people have the ability to do something does not mean it has to be done.If these animals were created, they would have to be in captivity because they would affect the existing ecosystems.I don’t know about you, but I would hate being trapped up in a cage and be observed- I would not be able to spread my music.
I believe that it would be facinating to see some of the extinct animals again today. However, we need to realize that the animals became extinct for a reason. That reason may not have been natural but most of them are. If someone would be role to fund this expiriment, then go right ahead.
Hey I beleave hit hat is somethIng dies and we are able to revive we should. The animal they revive will not over populate because I'll shoot it if it tries to. But I also think that some animals should stay extinct. For example the t-Rex, because I herd they weren't good eaten.
I personally don't think this 'revival of extinct species' is a good idea. Life (or in this case, death) happens for a reason and trying to mess with that balance just to try to see if you can do it and because it's a 'cool idea' is rather pointless and could actually endanger more animals as it could a potential predator. Scientists should use that money instead to help the endangered species we already have and stop messing with the past. If no animals are no longer ever endangered, then we'll talk.

Revival of extinct species is a good idea. If humans do revive extinct species, we could gain insight into the past that we never would without reviving certain species. We could also become aware of new information about genetics that will be useful in the future. It world also have its potential drawbacks too though. This could include anything from them not being able to survive the modern climate to preying on other organisms until they go extinct.
Yo I mean it sounds cool and all but when something's done, it's done. Just like rappers. When they time comes, they needa move on. It ain't cool if we be playin that "God" game because when the guy upstairs says he wants something gone, he got a reason. We don't needa be messin wid his plans, naw mean?
I believe that there is no one true answer to this debate. Although it would be a great contribution to the progression of science to revitalize extinct species, these species are extinct for a reason. They died off because they were not superior to their fellows, for humans to bring these species back would be reversed-Darwinism. Only the fit may survive, and to do otherwise would mean not being fit. "Ubermensch" must be the attitude that we as humans must have.

Really, I feel the topic of "de-extinction" is a strange one. On one hand, you have the awesome-ologists that say, "Why don't you want to be able to see organisms that haven't existed on Earth for so many years?" And, on the other hand, while I would like to see such an organism, I don't feel that humanity should use its resources on attempts to 'revive' dead species when they could be trying to protect the ones currently endangered.
...After all, we can't have baby Sions or Urgots running around the planet...
i think that it is wrong to revive extinct species, but yet i think that they should. One thing that would not be smart of scientists to do is to make the extict animal then but it in a natural enviornment. I think this beacasue it wouldn't be natural natural selection already killed of this particular organism years ago. Also if you were to intro duce them into said habitat we could have another burmese python like problem, where the species grows out of control. If they were to revive the dead species then it could help us understand why they died off and could help us further the reasearch of these animals.
i believe that an extinct animals should stay extinct because they are extinct for a reason. If we brought back dodo birds they go right back to being extinct.
I think it is really cool that people can bring back species, but I don't think it should happen, that idea is as good a a pile of feces. These animal became extinct for a reason, bringing them back in these conditions would be lifeline treason. That idea may be really neat, but if it happened the same species would be flattened out like a sheet. They died by natural causes, so dont bring them back in lab the idea just won't be applauded.

I think species revival is a cool idea. Animals who have not been seen in thousands or even millions of years would be amazing to see now in modern times. As far as the mammoths go, even if they are born from an elephant they are sill a mammoth is they have mammoth DNA. Why would people thing bringing back life that was once on Earth could be wrong? I think scientists have really outdone themselves with this breakthrough.

I believe we should not bring back dead animals! THEY ARE DEAD FOR A REASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They couldn't take the heat so they died!!!!!!!!! All the other cleaning products couldn't handle the competion that Orange-Glo and Oxi-clean so they just left and lost!!!!
