I believe that evolution should be taught in schools. One should be knowledgeable about science, a vital key to understanding the world around us. Therefore, evolution should be taught to inform of what may have been in this world. I do not agree with the full theory of evolution, but I respect the teachings of it and the learning of it. The most important circumstance is that you have a choice of what to believe in. Without a choice, there would be a violoation of freedom, and a violation of freedom is the worst type of violation.

Ronald Reagan, that is a great point. I agree with you fully. I couldn't have said it any better myself. While some may not like the teachings of evolution, I believe it is vital to gain knowledge. I also agree with you in the case of beliefs. I choose (because there is a coice) to not completely believe in evolution. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Yes evolution should be taught in schools. The concept of evolution gives middle and high school students a chance to learn how science answers how humans were created. Another big point is that evolution is the base of biology. Without evolution biology would just answer simple questions like "What do humans need to survive." With evolution, biology answers complex questions like "How was adaptation necessary for the introduction of Hominids?" One last thing is that evolution can question God but biology is one of biggest branches of Science.
Oh man, evolution is such a debatable topic. I believe that yes evolution should be taught because natural selection is a fact. However, it is hard to believe that humans are on this earth without a divine creator like Allah. Only some concepts should be taught, and the ones that are not completely developed should be left alone.

These sentences are true brilliance right here! What a great president you would be! Hahahah

Um....I believe Evolution should be taught....in schools. Um ....The students must learn about this theory, but the student has the choice to.... agree or......disagree with the idea. The idea of evolution..... should be exposed to the young minds of the student body.um....evolution helps shape the minds of these young men and women.
HEY BILLY MAYS HERE! I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT I DO THINK THAT EVOLUTION SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS. IT IS A VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC THAT YOU LEARN IN YOUR LIFE AND WITHOUT LEARNING IT SOME KIDS MIGHT JUST GO CRAZY. I ALSO THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND THE TRUE MEANING OF EVOLUTION, SO PROVIDING THE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS ALLOWS THEM TO ACTUALLY LEARN ABOUT IT.
Of course it should be taught dude! It was like part of history and stuff. It's part of scienc and says how science thinks the earth was made and how we ended up here. You don't have to agree with it, but in order to be a well rounded individual like me (hehehe) you gotta learn all that mess. I didn't make it to 9th grade cause I was rappin ya know, so Birdman had to teach me hehe. I love everyone except for the Miami Heat!!! ... but I wanna give a special thank you to Chris Bosh's wife I love you boo boo hehehehehe!

I believe that evoultion should be taught in schools. Not everyone is offended by the teachings of it and everyone deserves to know about the theory whether they believe it or not. But if evoluion is taught then Christianity must be taught as well. This will balance the two topics.

i completely agreee with you, but i think in order to learn how Evolution and Chritianity can work together to make sense they should teach both.

Evolution is a great thing to teach the people of today. Common misconceptions can lead to bad facts that can be taught later to kids. The idea is to teach it right now so that we won't have to worry about it later. We don't want the future scientists to be thinking silly things like man came from the monkey.
Of course evolution should be taught in schools. Its the same as grammar being taught, or math. We have to educate our Little-Little Monsters on the theories of mankind, even if some people don't believe in it. Us brothers and sisters have to understand one another in order to bring peace.
I believe that evoultion should be taught in schools. Not everyone is offended by the teachings of it and everyone deserves to know about the theory whether they believe it or not. But if evoluion is taught then Christianity must be taught as well. This will balance the two topics.
I agree with you Jane, but the idea that Science and Religion should be taught both in school would be a little overwhelming for the youth that are being taught. Science is for school and religion is for home.

but if Christianity is taught, doesn't this mean all religions should be taught as well? It would only be fair, and there are way too many to cover.
I think that's a great idea! Although some people oppose to the idea of evolution, you shouldn't be ignorant and not know it. I'm just saying. We still have to understand what other believe in and cope with what they believe in order for everyone to get along :).

That's good you think evolution should be taught in school, but not taught during Christianity. The students will get confused if science created the universe or God. It would be best if they were taught at different times.

Well, first off, I don't see why evolution should not be taught in the first place. It is simply science. It is not doing harm and nor is it offending any other beliefs or religions. It is the truth and children should be allowed to learn and understand it.

Yes Mr. Jobs, I must agree. Religion is is not for everyone and not everyone should be forced to believe in one. And there are many many types of religions out in the world, if pupils were forced to be taught Christianity, then it is only fair that they should understand all religions in the the world. However that would only prove to be too overwhelming for the young minds. Yes, facts should be learnt at school and your beliefs should stay with you and your family for it to stay special.

Evolution really should be taught in schools. There shouldn't be a problem about it. Evolution taught in school is strictly science, not religion. However, many people take evolution as an argument for their religion which is not the purpose of the science.

Dispite popular opinion i think that evolution should be taught in schools. It's science... Everyone should know it, it effects everything around us. I mean come on, i'm Papa Burgundy. Whatever i say goes.

I'm a big fan of you. Your opinion was super duper.
I think that evolution should be like taught in schools. Though when evolution is like taught the teachers should not force their students to like 100% agree with evoultion nor should they like say it is all wrong and only this religion is correct. Let the students chose what they like want to believe and just teach the basics of evoultion, because i mean it is science after all. HAHA! Though this isn't really my decision to make so I trust the educational boards will make the best choice on what the youngsters out there today should be taught. LOVE YA PEOPLE!!

Though I can see where you are like coming from I don't think that would work very well Jane. Some people believe in like different religions. What would they think about learning like Christianity? We must respect all religions, so maybe all religions could be taught or none at all and just keep it at church or where ever. Just my opinion! :)

Religions are taught at school but it's an elective called Comparative Religion.

I think that evolution can be taught throughout the schools because it does not affect your religious choices. All students many not have to agree with all of evolution like how the earth was formed, but it is always good to understand both sides or all arguments. On the other hand I don't believe that evolution is an actual religion.
I think evolution should be taught in schools, even if some people dont believe in it. Like, some people could go crazy trying to figure out the origin of life and the changes in species, and evoultion would give them a theory or idea to make sense of it. I think the problems result when teachers are bias over the whole evolution thing. Like, they try to make their students agree with evoultion and give them the impression that one opinion is better than the other.

I agree, as long as they tell them the actually meaning of evolution and not all the added parts of how humans were formed but rather that organisms change over time.
I do believe that evolution should be taught in schools. Of course some people aren't going to agree with it, there's always going to be at least one person who goes completely against everything. However, it is important that children learn about everything they can to further their education and someday possibly further the world's education. You know what they should really be teaching in every class though? The importance of voting for your favorite Alaskan in 2016. ; - ))))

I think evolution should be taught in schools. It is good for kids to know about evolution so they can develop their own beliefs. It is also good to know just to have the valuable information. When you think about it evolution itself isn't taught as a belief it is taught as information. Isn't it good for the youth to have the knowledge to be able to move forward?

I couldn't care less about school but is guess evolution is a good thing to teach. It allows people to know where science says they came from. It's also good to have a basic understanding of all topics so that you can expand your horizons to do and belive what you want.

WESSUP!!! I believe evolution should be taught in school. Even though people of religious backgrounds have another belief in how the world first began, it allows students to be able to understand our world from a scientific standpoint. I also believe that students should be able to express their religions' background on creation as well. They will not only understand the scientific way of the beginning of earth, but the understanding of others cultures.
I think evolution should be taught in schools, even if some people dont believe in it. I totally agree, minus the going crazy part. I do feel that some teachers try to persuade their students into believing in something that overall may be incorrect. Just saying I love your music and your spunky attitude. Maybe one day you could teach me to sing and I can show you some court skills. DUECES!!!
Evolution is a subject that can be taught in schools, and it does not oppose religion. The gods put organisms here on the Earth, and over time the organisms due to the gods changing the enviroment.

I follow up with what Sir Arthur Conan Doyle said about how there should be any opposition at all, it is a theory of how all organisms vary from each other not who our ancestors were.

Why Wouldnt we teach evolution in schools? Just because you are a christian does not mean that you have to reject evolution being taught in the classroom. I personally believe that you should feel privledged to go to a school. Remember listen to your teachers and do your best to learn because that right was earned for you.

Of course evolution should be taught in schools. Children should be educated on a topic that is widely accepted in the scientific community. Some do not believe it should be, due to their religion, but evolution must be taught in schools so children are not ignorant of the topic.

It is essential evolution be taught in schools. Many people only oppose this because they believe the it goes against religion, when in fact does not. Evolution only tries to explain the change in organisms over millions of years, given the evedince present, there in denying that some things have changed.
